Continuous Temperature Data Dashboard

How does a stream’s water temperature fluctuate throughout the year?

Some WAV volunteers help monitor stream temperature by installing small automatic temperature loggers into local streams. These loggers record water temperature at hourly intervals for 6 months straight! Temperature loggers provide accurate, high-resolution temperature data that helps us monitor the health of streams across the state. Colder water is generally associated with cleaner, healthier stream ecosystems, including higher insect and fish populations.
